City Sweep is a volunteer, non-profit meetup group organizing community trash cleanups across high-density urban neighborhoods, launching first in New York City. In creating the identity, the brand needed to hold its own in a city built on constant motion — direct enough to read instantly, confident enough to stand out, and rooted in the visual language of the city itself.

The mark draws on the utilitarian signage of municipal cleanup work: high-visibility orange, the colors of safety gear and city equipment, paired with a bold, condensed sans-serif built for legibility at a glance and echoing the directness of subway and street signage, with a funky flair. It's an identity meant to read like civic infrastructure: unmistakable, functional, built to be seen from across a block.

The group organizes cleanups a few hours at a time, rotating through a different city neighborhood each month, building a rhythm of visible, recurring civic action rather than a single one-off event. The system extends across social templates, event signage, and volunteer gear — tees, totes, gloves — carrying the same high-contrast identity into the field.

Join the movement for a cleaner tomorrow.
