Echoes is a book-length publication project pairing daily prompts with illustrated and written responses, produced over a four-month cycle from August to November 2022. Each day, I posted a single-word prompt via Instagram: a noun, verb, or adjective selected spontaneously rather than planned in advance, then developed it into an illustrated, hand-lettered entry, documenting an average of five times a week.
The project is structured around the concept of the echo: a single reflection of the sound source. Just as no two echoes are identical, no two entries repeat an approach — each prompt generated its own distinct treatment in illustration, lettering, and text. That constraint drove the book's range and depth: the final publication comprises over 10,000 words and 55 original illustrated pieces, unified as a single continuous body of work.
Echoes reflects a sustained practice in publication design — building and working within a self-imposed system, producing at volume without sacrificing craft, and pushing beyond the page's margins to create work that is both legible and visually impactful.
