Commissioned by York College of Pennsylvania's Graphic Design program to design its branded recruiting poster, the brief was simple in ambition and enormous in scope: capture all the things. I took that literally — the finished piece contains over 160 individually illustrated items, from students in classrooms to students in dorm rooms, assembled into a single dense composition that reflects the real, overlapping demands of college life: independence, friendships, self-care, coursework, extracurriculars, and everything else competing for attention at once.
The poster began as lists — scribbled, scratched-out inventories of things any college student would recognize — built toward an "I Spy" structure designed for repeat viewing, so a viewer could return to it again and again and keep finding something new. Each item was drawn in a consistent monoline style and carried from paper sketches to Procreate to final vector work in Illustrator. Color came from three spot colors combined through overprinting, generating a wider range of tonal variation than the palette alone would suggest.
The poster was selected by juror Anna Jordan for second place in York College's Annual Juried Student Exhibition.
